We would just like to say thanks to Jim at Sustrans in B&NES for promoting our Bikeability Courses to the BikeIT schools within the Local Authority.
Partnership working Rocks!!
'Dear Champions,
As you all know, one of the few conditions of being a Bike It school is that you actively promote Bikeabilty cycle training. These courses are currently being offered FREE of charge, to children in years 5 and above (including year 7 where there is scope for more advanced Level 3 cycle training sessions). They provide the opportunity for children to learn the necessary skills to take an onroad journey, along quiet roads, in safe controlled conditions. I have seen one of the instructors at work and he was fantastic with the kids. Cycle training is a really important tool for your school to demonstrate to parents that you are encouraging safe road skills for your young cyclists.
Cycling Instructor Ltd are providing these courses on behalf of B&NES council. Many schools have already undertaken the training; a survey was conducted in these schools, with very positive feedback, "the children thoroughly enjoyed the course and looked forward to each week’s lesson. They felt that it was light-hearted and fun, but alongside this, clear messages about safety were given and consistently reinforced."
Booking is really simple; visit www.cyclinginstructor.com and complete the online booking form. Select Schools, BOOK NOW.
Alternatively feel free to contact the administrator, Rita, by email rita.maestri@cyclinginstructor.com or phone 07747 814045.
Course dates are available until the end of March 2012 and if there is proven demand then I'm sure the Council will want to continue this invaluable training.
Any question do let me know,
Jim
