The primary purpose of this post is to deliver the Wheels for All inclusive cycling scheme to disabled children and their carers, young people and adults. Working alongside the Play Team & the Sport & Active Lifestyles Team you will assist in developing communities and promoting active lifestyles using recreational cycling. 

The Wheels for All sessions will provide a responsive and enabling service of cycling for disabled children, young people and adults with mobility impairments, mental ill health and/or specific support requirements.

You will have a background in delivering cycle training or leading recreational cycling activities.
Working with the Wheels for All Coordinator you will be implementing this exciting and innovative project and encouraging people to have fun and engaging sessions. 

With a practical interest in cycling you will have basic knowledge and experience of cycle maintenance. An understanding of adapted cycles and the benefits of promoting health and physical activity would be an advantage.

Work will involve liaising with a variety of partners in the education and health sectors in Bath and North East Somerset and in following evaluation and monitoring procedures. This will require strong communication skills.

The role consists of a total of 260 project hours which will focus on the delivery of a regular schedule of work including afterschool clubs, open sessions and play schemes. The role will also include time spent on planning and preparation which will require access to the Council’s I.T network through one of its office locations. 

Due to the all year round outdoor nature of the activity you are likely to be working in inclement weather conditions and on some weekends.
