Bike Adjustments for Instructors
Course Outline
Advice on standard toolkit for above
This course is taught by an experienced working instructor and is aimed at delivering the bike adjustments in a non workshop environment, typically a school, with a minimum of tools and replacement parts.
Advanced - these skills are beyond what is required for a NS instructor - Nice to have though and frequently used by many instructors.
Replacing Brake and Gear cables and adjusting both subsequently
overhauling/replacing drivechain parts (derailleur, front mech, chain, cassette)
bearing adjustment (headset, bottom bracket, wheel hubs)
Replacing Spokes, Chain links
The advanced course is again taught by an experienced working instructor who will also have a specific bike mechanic tutor qualification. You will need some specialist tools and a stand might be helpful. You do not need a fully equipped bike shop type workshop.
We run these course by request and they can be arranged anywhere in the uk.
Price is on application.
Resources
We need sole use of a secure lockable well lit room with a suitable floor that is cleanable with solvents so that we can get any oil spills off, i.e. not a wooden floor. We also need access to toilets, kitchen and central heating in the winter.
